So i purchased the aweinspiring Night owl DVR/Camera kit, and decisive that the degree of view from a few of the cameras was too narrow. I purchased this 1/3″ CCD with 4-9mm adjustment and the picture from this cam is not only better, but as desired, the degree of view has increased exponentially. The cam switches back and forth amidst color & IR (nite vision) perfectly, so that you get real color for the duration of the day, and blk & white at night (not like some cams that have IR on all day which means the colors for the duration of the day are completely faulty on anything green like grass, trees, or brown). Anyway, the adjustments are easy, the mounting was simple. The camera is heavy/sturdy, and focus adjustment works beautifully (and is necessitated since you have the capacity to adjust 4-9mm). The infrared lights up the night just fine. The color on mine is like a greyish tinted with purple, but not bad at all, it is not like BARNEY purple or anything, just a slight tint of purple in the gray. Used existent voltage & BNC Video line from NightOwl camera/DVR. You may get a better view from a camera with higher tv lines, this one is 420, you may get 540 from other dome cams on amazon, so if you need even better video, spend a little more. Otherwise, this will have to do fine.
