Great sound and isolation for the price
By Christopher E. Robison
Before buying these, I read the reviews for this product, the somewhat more highpriced CX300s and a few from other manufacturers. I noticed a wide variation in user experiences. I ended up selecting these as a compromise on price, and after attempting them, I think I have a theory on why the views are so different. What you end up hearing depends very highly on how the things fit in your ears.
As I opened the package I was listening to a song through my cheap came-with-the-player earbuds, which were what you’d expect: okay but not great. With the song playing I swopped one earbud, swapped the plug, and then swapped the other ear. At first, I was hit by this wave of disappointment — the sound from the CX200 seemed *worse* than the cheap earbuds they replaced. Thinking with dread regarding how I hate sending things back, I adjusted them in my ears. After a couple seconds, I noticed I was hearing parts of the music I hadn’t heard before, both bass and treble. I swapped to the old ones and back again, and confirmed that fit is *everything*. Properly fit to my ears, I’m now happy to say they’re the best sounding earphones of any kind that I’ve tried, short of professional full-size over-the-ear headphones. I’ve tried assorted dissimilar types and brands of earbuds, and for sure they beat all of those. I suppose that a $50 or $100 pair of buds would likely sound better, but I think these do very well for the price.
Concerning passive noise isolation, these buds do a very good job. There is no active electronic noise cancellation here, and I was quintessentially avoiding that when purchasing them. The isolation is good sufficient that I think active cancellation is unnecessary, and in fact I find that the isolation may be exuberant in galore situations. I can’t listen my car when I’m driving, I listen the sound of my own breathing finelooking loudly when music isn’t playing, and when it is I doubt I’d listen my own doorbell ring as I sit here typing this. I feel finelooking cut off from my environs with them in my ears. Keep that in mind if you’re thinking with regards to buying these or any ear canal type earbud.

Perfect For What They Are
By Santino
You aren’t getting the CX200′s because you want the extreme in earbud technology. You are getting them because you want a cheapo pair of ear buds that don’t sound too bad, which is precisely what you get with the CX200.
Pros:
Very comfortable
I wholly forget they are in my ears. They are in fact, so light and have almost zero sentiment in the ear, that it is closely distracting, since I am not applied to such localized music in my ear canal without the sentiment of something stuffed into my ear holes.
Reinforced connections:
A lot of ear buds break after tugging the wire over and over to remove them, but these are a bit sturdier, with a shrink wrap tube where the wires meet the ear bud.
Decent sound:
You won’t be using these in the sound booth or to mix music on your laptop, but in the garage or datacenter or on the bus, they are good enough. Highs and mids are good.
Cord length:
Not too long. Not too short. I in truth dislike super long head phone cables, since they cause more disturb than they are worth.
Cons:
Bass response:
Not the best. Not terrible, but not as good as the higher frequencies. Bass is good for electronic music, but acoustic bass drums don’t seem to hit very hard.
No case: A little case would have been nice, but then again, I salaried less then twenty bucks for these, and I have tons of cases already.
Music I based this review on:
Steely Dan “Gaucho”:
* Saxophone a bit shrill, but not bad
* This is a song with famously high dynamic range, and begins to overload the ear buds
* E Piano sounds nice
Steely Dan “Caves of Altamira”:
* Horns sound decent
* Toms come in clear
* High hat could be brighter
* Bass and E Piano tend to mush together
The New Deal “Techno Beam”:
* For such a busy song, the CX200 did gorgeous well
* Acoustic bass with drums with electronic everything else all came through ok
Megasoid “Stabshot Riddim”:
* Dubstep tracks may be real headphone killers, but the CX200 kept up finelooking good with all the humungous and obscene amounts of sub-bass and crunchy 8-but sounds

Good sound. Disappointing lifespan
By Ben
Left earbud passed from physical life after 2 months of each and everyday tame use. Up until that happened, the sound quality was actually good and they were actually comfortable.
