Exactly what I needed
By C. Martin
I have an old PS/2 keyboard and the new motherboard that I have only uses USB output. I tried other usb-ps/2 adapters to get my old keyboard working, but they didn’t work as they are just wire pass throughs.
The Ziotek worked utterly for me, where other types of adapters failed. At 7$ this isnt a bad price because it saved me from buying a new USB keyboard with a bunch useless features I do not want.
So if you want to get an old ps/2 keyboard working through USB, this would be the adapter to use.

Right church, faulty pew
By J. Prelack
This the 2nd PS/2 to USB adapter that I have tried. I reviewed the other one elsewhere as workable when used with a PS/2 mouse but a failure when applied with a keyboard due to missing electronics. With this adapter the electronics are there, so the adapter does function as described.
But there are three things to factor into an adapter use-decision: form, fit, and function. The function is present, but the big form of the adapter makes for a suboptimal fit. The adapter takes up the plug space necessitated for TWO USB widgets when plugged to the backplane of a DELL PC.
Options to this: add a USB extention cord to get the adapter away from the PC, or get a 4-plug USB port. Just watch out for the total wattage that all these adapters are pulling from the PC power supply, which will drag down the overall system.

The right switch
By Robert Avakian
One of the reviewers of this and other “adapters” for PS-2 to USB keyboards said to beware of a simple adapter. He said this was the one necessitated and he was right! A simple adaptor like one applied for a mouse fails miserably.
I hate to give up my old, piercing IBM keyboards to new technology. The noise is satisifying and the keys are humane sized – not intended for midgets.
This little device will do the trick. Highly recommended.
