Applying stickers on a wall seems to be very easy. You will only need to peel off the sticker’s backside and slam the sticker onto the wall. The fact is, it is not that easy. Once it sticks, the sticker can not be reapplied or reused. Therefore you need to be careful and patient in embellishing your wall with this instant ornament. For applying the wall art stickers, you might need to follow a lot of steps given here.
Step #1 – Clean the wall
Before applying the stickers, make sure to remove any dirt and dust off the wall. Wipe the wall with a damp sponge to get rid of the dirt. Instead of using water, it is better if you use rubbing alcohol for cleaning the wall.
Step #2 – Tape the sticker
Position the sticker on the place you want it to be stuck. Don’t open the sticker’s backside yet. Hold the sticker in it is position using masking tape.
Step #3 – Peel off the sticker’s backside
A vinyl sticker comprises of three parts; the transfer film, the vinyl itself (the one with lovely pictures) and the backside paper. After the sticker is secured on it is position, cautiously lift a little portion of the transfer film and vinyl and peel off the backside paper from behind. If the vinyl is stuck on the backside part, re-stick the paper to the film and peel it again carefully.
Step #4 – Smooth the Vinyl
After you have peeled the backside paper, smooth the film and the vinyl with a squeegee at 45 degrees. Smooth the sticker softly but with resolute determination so that you won’t invent any air bubbles trapped inside the sticker. Do this very cautiously since you will not be competent to redo the application.
Step #5 – Remove the film transfer
Wait for at least 10 minutes before you peel off the film which covers the vinyl. Pull the film tardily and cautiously so you won’t tear the vinyl. If the vinyl is still stuck to the film while you pull it, redo the routine with the squeegee.
To Notice:
- You will have to not implement stickers to a freshly painted wall. Wait for at least 2 weeks before you put the sticker on the wall.
- After cleaning the wall with the sponge and rubbing alcohol, wait until the wall dries exhaustively prior to sticking the vinyl.
- Vinyl stickers work best with water-based paints. You may still utilize vinyl wall art stickers to oil-based paint, but the vinyl adhesive will be tighter on oil free paint.
