Since the launch of Dave Flood’s adaptable handlebar risers last month there have been a number of enquiries on how to fit them and was it hard and did you have to extend cables and wires and things.
Keep in mind the Dave Flood risers only fit a fixed number of BMW Motorcycles. These are the K series 1200 and 1300 R and S models and the R1200S model.
Why only the K series
The reason for this is that these models have a yoke type head into which the left and right hand bars are clamped. In other words it is not a single bar right all over but one straight bar for the left and one for the right each fitted into a central head. It is this central head and the position of the faring that makes it hard to design risers that may go more than a couple of inches. Mind you the factory length of the cables and brake line also restrict just how much rise you may get.
High Risers
Some makers have made risers that do go rather a few inches more and this does require that these cables and the brake line be extended. This is no little job. It is also a botheration if after fitting the extended bars you don’t like them and want to go back to something a bit less if you find that you have overdone it and didn’t genuinely need that much more of a rise. Some riders think they need a lot of rise to get comfortable but the truth is it is aweinspiring what just a little bit extra of change of position may make. For instance it might not be a raise at all that makes the bike more comfortable but a shift of bar position a bit more forward or back closer to you that does the trick.
Infinite Setting
This is where the Flood Adjustable Riser comes into it is own. Because you may set them in any position you have the prospect to play in regards to with them until you find your best position and then lock them down right there. This saves you buying pair after pair to find the ones that match your ease and most relaxed riding style. Not only that, but as you in all probability know, unless you may get genuinely comfortable you finish up with aches and pains after a good ride. That’s why it is so necessary to spend the time and effort getting the right gear to make the bike match you and your way of riding.

Good value!

The stripes were easy to utilise and genuinely jazz up the look of my other than as supposed or expected ‘plain’ looking motorcycle. Not incisively made out of thick vinyl but I didn’t suppose that for this low price either. They even send extra to fix an area if you goof. Very reflective!

The yellow is more gold than yellow

The yellow is more gold than yellow. I tried a little piece just to be sure and it was in truth very gold, not the yellow of the product description.
I’ve read the green also isn’t rather green but a bit more turquoise. Be careful.
